Virtual Design and Construction & Building Information Modeling

Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) are essential tools in today’s construction management, providing numerous benefits to clients and subcontractors throughout the construction process. During estimating, VDC and BIM allow us to create 3D models that accurately reflect the project’s scope and complexity, enabling us to more accurately estimate costs and timelines. This leads to more precise budgets and schedules, reducing unexpected costs or delays during the project’s construction phase.

During preconstruction, VDC and BIM allow us to identify and resolve potential clashes or conflicts in design or construction methodology before construction begins. This helps to streamline the construction process and avoid costly changes or rework later in the project. Additionally, we can use these tools to inform construction schedules, optimizing the sequence and timing of construction activities, and providing clear communication and coordination among stakeholders. During construction, VDC and BIM enable us to check accuracy, allowing us to identify and address issues before they potentially grow larger, ultimately leading to better quality control and assurance.

By using VDC and BIM, Cranshaw streamlines the construction process, reduces risks, and improves the overall quality of a project, benefiting all stakeholders involved.
