This Design-Build project with National Development constructed a new 210,600 SF warehouse which replaced existing structures, including a contractor’s yard and a barn, located on a 20-acre parcel strategically located mid-way between Boston and Providence. The growing demand in the Northeast for faster and more efficient delivery of goods has led to an increased need for new warehouse and distribution facilities. This state-of-the-art facility, with its modern and efficient design, will play a vital role in meeting the demands of businesses and consumers alike by providing ample parking and loading dock space to facilitate the seamless flow of goods.
A tilt-up construction method where wall panels are cast on-site in a horizontal position and then lifted or “tilted” into place with cranes was used. The foundation of the building was constructed using shallow spread footings and a slab-on-grade. Site lighting is dark sky compliant and can be dimmed during the evening to minimize light spillage to residential properties.
As part of the Design-Build, National Development led civil and land contracts while Cranshaw Construction handled architectural, MEPs, and structural contracts. Cranshaw began construction in April 2023 and completed in the fall of 2024.
