When completed, the redevelopment of Arsenal Yards will feature 350,000 square feet of retail and entertainment, about 500 apartments, and 100,000 square feet of lab/office space. The development will include five new buildings as well as the restoration and repositioning of two existing historic-looking buildings. Cranshaw provided pre-construction services starting in May 2016, and subsequently commenced enabling work to allow for construction of the new buildings and renovation of the existing buildings to start in August 2017. The pre-construction effort ranged from early conceptual pricing of the entire mixed use development including site logistics plans, phasing plans, construction management plans, and schedules along with early procurement strategies for critical path elements of the various buildings. Construction is currently underway for Buildings B2, E, A –Core & Shell and the Civil/Streetscape. Procurement and pricing is ongoing for Building F and Office/Lab portion of Building A. Construction is slated for completion in June of 2020.
