Old Colony: Phases 4-5

Boston, MA

This Beacon Communities project in South Boston creates a total of 208 units within two new buildings. Designed by The Architectural Team, WaypointKLA is managing the project. The soil is urban fill and will be managed under a soil management plan. Demolition of the seven existing buildings as well as building hazardous material removal, environmental site remediation and other site including utility cut and cap work on the site began in the fall of 2022. Once demolition is complete, two new buildings will be constructed. Phase Four is 104 units with some common space on the ground floor in one building and Phase Five is 104 units. The new buildings are slated for completion in the fall of 2024.

The project is targeting LEED Gold (Multi-family Mid-rise v4) certification and Passive House standards.

Old Colony Phase Four and Phase Five will be located approximately a half mile from the Andrew Station on the MBTA Red Line, making it a Transit Oriented Development.
