Construction of New Logistics Facility in West Bridgewater Begins
Cranshaw Construction, on behalf of National Development, has been appointed as the general contractor responsible for overseeing the construction process for a state-of-the-art logistics facility spanning 210,600 SF on a 20-acre parcel in West Bridgewater, MA. The facility, at 586 Manley Street is expected to be completed by April 2024, has been designed by Newberry Design Associates to meet the highest institutional-quality standards.
Featuring impressive specifications such as 36-foot clear heights, 168 parking spaces, 45 trailer parking spaces, 37 loading docks (including 2 drive-in doors), and the ability to be subdivided, this facility aims to be flexible in meeting the needs of multiple tenants.
A tilt-up construction method, also known as tilt-slab or tilt-wall construction, will be the construction technique used for the building. Large concrete wall panels are cast on-site, usually in a horizontal position on a concrete slab or other flat surface, and then lifted or “tilted” into place using cranes. The method has several advantages, including speed of construction, cost-effectiveness, durability, fire resistance and flexibility in design.
With a focus on the Greater Boston market, the new facility addresses the demand for modern, high-quality last mile distribution operations and third-party logistics properties ranging from 50,000 to 200,000 SF. Its strategic location only minutes away from Route 24, I-93 and a half hour from Boston further enhances its appeal. Jones Lang Lasalle (JLL) is serving as the project’s leasing agent.
