Joel McCarthy Named Vice President of Operations

As part of Cranshaw Construction’s strategic growth plan, the firm identified the need for a Vice President of Operations to provide managerial oversight across the firm’s portfolio which includes multi-family residential, commercial office/tenant fit up, mixed-use developments and life sciences facilities.

Joel McCarthy was promoted to serve in this newly-created role. Joel will optimize organizational performance by focusing on operating procedures, financial management and project execution.

“Joel understands the systems, training and processes that need to be in place to achieve the highest level of success for each client and their projects.” In promoting Joel, the four-person Cranshaw Construction Executive Committee noted, “When we identified the need and created this new position, we knew Joel was the right professional to elevate to this role.”

Joel has been with Cranshaw since 2018. In that time, he worked with the Cranshaw Construction Executive Committee in analyzing and implementing managerial best practices. He managed construction of The Mark at DeNormandie Wharf a six-story luxury condominium building in East Boston as well as the re-positioning and fit-out of 960 Massachusetts Avenue in Boston.

Joel has 22 years’ overall industry experience, 13 years of which were in operations at another top ten Greater Boston construction management firm. Joel holds a Bachelor of Science cum laude in Facilities Planning & Management from the Wentworth Institute of Technology.
